Why is anxiety hard for professionals in demanding jobs to control? 👇

online anxiety therapy

Anxiety is a normal response to stress that we have all experienced at one point or another in our life.

For some of us though, this emotion sticks around and impacts our life in negative ways. When this happens, we can say that we’re struggling with anxiety.

We don’t always recognize when we’re struggling with anxiety.

When we work in a demanding job, we often feel a huge amount of pressure for us to succeed. This means that we often feel as though:

→ We can’t show weakness.
→ We have to put other people before us.

We have to put the job before ourselves. Especially if we struggled entering the job force, we saw our parents and caregivers struggle with layoffs, or if we felt the impact of a job market turned upside down. It can feel like we have to love the job we have and stick with it, even if it makes us feel drained and running on empty.

These values are so strong that we don’t recognize that we’re feeling stressed, burnt out, or anxious. If we don’t recognize it, we won’t deal with it or control it, and it controls us in other ways:

→ Migraines
→ When your heart is always pounding
→ Holding off on huge projects and deadlines because it’s not going to be perfect
→ Blaming yourself for being lazy when you’re too tired to focus

How can anxiety therapy help you find more relief?

→ Learn how to stop yourself before you wonder what you did wrong for the 100th time.
→ Help you stop replaying every choice in your head when you’re trying to sleep at night.
→ Discover how to be comfortable with times when your work isn’t perfect.
→ Learn how to come home from work relaxed instead of clenching your jaw to the point that it’s sore.
→ Help you stop worrying before it gets to the point that you’ve lost your appetite and you feel sick.
→ Discover what you actually want in life instead of worrying about what other people want.
→ Figure out how to say no to toxic friends, family members, or bosses.
→ Build lasting and meaningful connections with people around you.
→ Discover the ability to make a choice, not second guess your decision, and feel like you can move on with your day and be more present in the things that you love.
→ Learn what it means for something to be good enough for you.
→ Feel like you can actually trust the decisions and choices that you’ve made and stop overthinking all your daily interactions.

I’m Danielle Wayne, and I’m an online anxiety therapist for millennial professionals.

I help professionals quiet the negative voice in their head, so they can show up with confidence at home and work.

Who do I work well with?

Over the years, I’ve found that I work best with anxious and professional millennials who are:

→ Open to personal development
→ Ready to make changes in their life
→ Eager to do the work to get to the deeper reasons behind their anxiety

Anxiety makes us want a solution right now, but I want to work with you to find a longer-lasting solution so you aren’t coming back a month later for new ways to cope. I don’t want to work with you to just find a band aid to your current situation. I believe that anxiety is something that we can learn to cope with but also prevent and overcome.

Why is all my work online?

It's convenient.

When we see each other online, there’s no commute. You don’t have to take extra time away from your day just for the drive to your therapist (and back home afterwards).

In fact, you can be anywhere in the states of Idaho, Iowa, or South Carolina and we can work together.  With online therapy, it’s also easier to schedule appointments.

It takes less than 5 minutes to make an appointment with me and you don’t even have to make a phone call or wait for me to email you back.

Basically, working online lets you find the therapist that will work best for you, not just whoever is closer to your work or home.

It's more comfortable.

When you go to a therapist’s office, even if they have a nice office, that office will be tailored to what that therapist thinks is comfortable. Which may not be whatever comfortable means to you.

When we meet online, you can be in your own space. This often means that when you’re in therapy, you’ll be wherever feels safest and most comfortable for you.

This means that your pets can join. You can kick off your shoes and your bra (let’s be honest, it comes off the second you get home).

You also don’t have to worry about where you put your keys, what the traffic is like, or how bad the weather will be.

It's confidential.

When we work highly-demanding jobs, sitting in a waiting room can be a huge source of anxiety, because we can start to wonder if we’ll run into someone we know, and how that’ll impact our reputation.

With online therapy, there’s more anonymity than if you see someone in person. You don’t have to worry about accidentally bumping into a colleague in the waiting room or in the parking lot. This means that everything we work on is confidential and private.

It's more consistent.

Online therapy lets us meet on a more consistent. What do I mean about consistency?

We don’t have to take a break if you move to another town or even across the state. We can still meet if you’re on vacation and feel overwhelmed with how to handle not working, travel anxiety, or your family.

We can still meet during the holidays and other times when schedules get hectic rather quickly.By being more consistent, you can meet your goals quicker and feel less anxious.

It's better for scheduling.

Online therapy is so convenient to schedule, that it’s easier to fit into creative spots in our schedule. If you were seeing a therapist in-person, the commute time, plus the actual therapy time, would make it difficult to schedule your counseling during:

→ Lunch breaks
→ Before you start your work for the day
→ After you’re done with work but before the therapist is done with theirs
→ During the weekendIn between doing chores, like laundry

Let's get started.

Let's do this already!
