You feel more successful at work than you do in your personal life. It feels harder to communicate your wants and needs in a relationship than it is to do a difficult project at work. You doubt relationships if they start to feel meaningful and valid. You feel a huge amount of pressure to succeed. You hold yourself to an extremely high standard, then blame yourself if you don’t achieve those high standards. You see stress as a regular part of the job, not a sign to take care of yourself. You’re constantly worried about a long list of "shoulds” in your life. You feel ashamed for struggling. You overthink about what happened in the day and run through scenarios on how you could have done something differently. You’re considered a millennial (born between the years of 1981 and 1996).
Why I work with millennials
I work with professional millennials because I’m a millennial and I’ve felt the pressure of a highly demanding job. The struggles that millennials face are different from the struggles of our parents and grandparents. I know what it’s like to feel anxious because of the overwhelming responsibilities that come with being in a demanding career as well as adulting outside of work. I’m a millennial and a therapist, which means I’m here with you every step of the way as you journey to overcome your own anxiety and stress.
My therapeutic approach
During sessions, it’s my goal for you to not need anxiety therapy anymore. We’ll work on coping mechanisms and different tools that help you manage your anxiety and calm yourself when things escalate. We’ll also discuss your past experiences and mindset that impact your anxiety as I teach you to let go of thoughts that hold you back and make you more anxious.
I’m an exclusively online therapist.
In my experience, online therapy fits in a busy millennial’s life. Sometimes it’s overwhelming to even schedule an appointment--but with the click of a button, you can schedule an appointment with me that fits seamlessly within your schedule. There’s no commute and no awkward, teary-eyed walk to your car after a heavy session.
Online therapy is simply an easier and more convenient step to take if you are new to therapy. It’s my job to make therapy a safe, validating, and soothing process for you—even though you’ll have to put in the work to heal. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, contact me today to schedule a complimentary consultation. We’ll get to know each other and see if online therapy with me would be a good fit.
